New York State Final Examination & Proctoring Requirement

The New York Department of State requires that the course final examination be proctored in person.

This is a state-mandated requirement and is not optional.

In this context, a proctor is an independent adult who supervises the administration of the examination and confirms that required conditions are met. In person means the proctor and learner are physically in the same location during the exam. This requirement supports exam integrity and aligns with New York Department of State expectations for qualifying education.

What This Means

• The final examination must be taken in the physical presence of an approved proctor.
• Remote or unproctored final examinations are not permitted for this course.
• Course completion credit cannot be issued until the proctored final examination is successfully completed in accordance with state requirements.
• We do not control proctor fees

If the final examination is taken without a qualifying proctor, without valid identification, or without a completed attestation, the provider may be unable to award course completion credit. These issues most often arise from last-minute scheduling, unclear proctor eligibility, or attempts to take the exam outside the approved process.
